During the last four years, the country’s GDP has increased between 4 and 5 percent, leading the economic growth of the region. During his last visit to Nicaragua, Min Zhu, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), highlighted Nicaragua as an example for the rest of Latin American Countries. Also, in 2014, the country reached important figures in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows and Exports, reaching US$1,447 milion and US$5,143 million respectively.
