As of September 30 an increase of 7% will be applied to the minimum wage in the construction sector.

The president of the Superior Council of Private Enterprise (COSEP), Joseph Adam Aguerri announced that the unions had initially requested 11%, but eventually negotiated it down to 7%.
“.. The adjustment will take effect on September 30, when it is made official by the Ministry of Labor. With the bipartisan agreement, the salary of 34.77 cordobas per hour, in force since September 3 of last year, will go up to 37.19 cordobas per hour. That is, 297.59 cordobas a day. This is valid until 29 September 2016. ”
The president of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Construction, Rodrigo Pereira said in an article on Laprensa.com.ni “… Remember that the construction sector has this special mechanism through collective agreement to set the salary of workers, as the national minimum wage only applies to assistants. ”
